Hong Kong is a densely populated metropolis that features many beautiful outdoor public green spaces in the urban areas, as well as distinctive seasonal urban forests. To encourage students to appreciate and learn more about these local outdoor green spaces, the Greening, Landscape, and Tree Management Section (GLTMS) of the Development Bureau has organised the “See GREEN Go GREEN 。 Travelogue Contest”, allowing students through noting down their observations and experience with their creativity in the form of a travelogue during their visits to these green spaces, deepening their appreciation, knowledge and understanding on the landscape designs and greening elements in Hong Kong.

Students are required to visit one of the public spaces (e.g. public parks, waterfront promenades, public sitting-out areas, green waterways, etc.) with urban forestry and greening elements in the urban areas of Hong Kong. Students should record their observations on the landscape facilities and botanical features of the green spaces, as well as their understanding and thoughts during their visit, in the form of a travelogue with both writings and drawings.

i) The name and location of the outdoor public green space, and the date and time of the visit shall be recorded. The date of visit should be within 2025.
ii) At least 1 element should be recorded in both writings and drawings for each of the following 3 items mentioned below:
1) Landscape design feature/element (e.g. waterscape, lawn, observation deck, pavilion, totem, etc.);
2) Tree (Note: Students may scan the Tree Labels with QR Codes on the trees for information about the tree. Please refer here), and
3) Featured plant (e.g. can be shrubs, groundcovers or flowers, other than trees).
iii) To record in writing their thoughts and observations on the above mentioned (i) and (ii).
i) The travelogue must be drawn or printed on paper of no larger than A4 size (210mm x 297mm), one-sided and not more than three pages, either in portrait or landscape format. No restriction is imposed on the colour and texture of the paper used.
ii) Writings can be expressed in the form of notes, poems, diary entries, etc. The total number of words must be less than 300 words, both Chinese and English are acceptable.
iii) Drawings can be drawn with traditional drawing skills or with computation drawing software, in monochrome or in colour. The name of the computation drawing software must be stated on the back of the entry if the drawing is created with drawing software.
i) The name and location of the outdoor public green space, and the date and time of the visit shall be recorded. The date of visit should be within 2025.

The submission deadline is on Monday, 30 June 2025 at 5:30pm.
Award winners will be announced near late July 2025. The schools of the award winners will be notified for prize collection.
