Inspiration Lake

Located at Sunny Bay, Lantau Island and less than 1km away from Hong Kong Disneyland, the Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre boasts a scenic man-made lake known as Inspiration Lake with a dynamic fountain, lush green lawns and flourishing greenery, an arboretum and some other recreational facilities.

The calm open waters of Inspiration Lake reflects the blissful blue sky and undulating mountains of Lantau Island, Tai Shan and Tai Yam Teng, providing a tranquil environment and stunning scenery that isolates the place from the hustling city.
Inspiration Lake Boat Centre is situated at the lake entrance. The Centre is decorated with denim blue rooftops and cream white pillars blends in with the countryside environment and provides great photographic opportunities. Pedal boats and bicycles rentals are available at the Centre.
Gazebos constructed on raised decks can be found along the shoreline of the lake.
A series of accessible lawn along the lake are popular amongst visitors for spending quality time.
A wide path for walking, jogging and cycling confines the perimeters of the lake, offering a refreshing route meandering through the landscape.
Plantings with different species in various forms and heights create multi-layer greenery as a backdrop for the footpath.
Trees with sweeping branches along the shoreline of Inspiration Lake frame the lake and distant backdrop of the mountains, a striking scenery which is rare to be found in the urban areas of Hong Kong.
Gently sloped lawn areas with scattered pieces of rock and shrubs defining the water’s edge along the shoreline offer users a place to lie on. This also creates an elevated footpath along the lake for an unobstructed view towards the water surface.
The meandering paths lead the visitors to explore and immerse in the beautiful arboretum.
Spreading tree crowns on trees situated along the lake provides ample shaded spaces.
The lake is home to various aquatic animals.
