Central radiating pathways are lined with ornamental trees providing seasonal flower displays at different times of the year.
The upper and lower platforms in Nam Cheong Park are linked by a ramped pathway. The upper platform provides views of the park and beyond and connects to the bridge crossing West Kowloon Highway.
<i>Tabebuia impetiginosa</i> (Pink Trumpet Tree) flowers during Spring and displays a profusion of bright pinkish red flowers before its foliage returns.

Trees provide dappled shade creating a very comfortable space below where people gather and picnic. This Hong Kong Orchid (<i>Bauhinia</i> x <i>blakeana</i>) is one of the very attractive features trees in the park.
Built amongst a densely populated urban environment, the park benefits the nearby residents not only by offering open spaces for leisure activities, but has ample provision for running and other sporting pursuits.
Large lawns attract many visitors who take advantage of the space for picnics, badminton and other games.
A dedicated children’s bicycle track provides a safe, accessible facility for kids to ride their bikes under supervision. The bike path and jogging path wind their way through the park.

Nam Cheong Park is famous for its golden yellow blossoms of <i>Tabebuia chrysantha</i> that flowers in the Spring. The spectacular blossoms attract many visitors including families that enjoy the open lawn and spaces of the park.
